Our Mission – Everyone touched by life-limiting illness has free care and support to live well, from diagnosis to the end of life.
Longfield Hospice helps patients regain control of their physical and emotional wellbeing, enabling them to be themselves, rather than just a victim of their illness. They may be struggling with things from time to time, and we can help them to adapt, to manage their life more effectively and to improve their quality of life.
We achieve this by providing support for adults at all stages of their illness, from their diagnosis onwards. Our team also offer services to family members and carers, who are caring for somebody with a life-limiting illness, and those who have been bereaved. Services include Counselling and Bereavement Support, Day Therapy, complementary therapy and carers services.
Longfield’s Hospice at Home service is vitally important as it enables people who are nearing the end of their life to be at home with their loved ones and familiar things around them.
Our skilled and compassionate staff offer not just hands-on care but also emotional support and a listening ear to patients and their family and friends and our care continues after the person has died through our bereavement support services. We rely on the public’s help to fund the majority of our work and without support, we cannot provide the precious free hours of care.
Every year Longfield has to raise £3.7 million to provide its free services to families in Gloucestershire.
